very nice post! I agree with you that depression can be naturally treated. I am in a poor country where we do not have the means to access medical treatment. What I do practice that helps me daily is setting reachable goals. This helped me a lot because they are easy goals and when I go beyond my goals, I feel so happy. Another thing that helps me daily is my faith in God. It helps me to take hold of my mind, motivate me and help me go beyond my own feelings.

    Thanks for sharing!

Dear Joseph, thank you for sharing your thoughts on this article. Depression is real and I can certainly identify with Ben Carson and Jane McGonigal’s quotes that you shared. We can very well be earning good salary, have seemingly perfect lives but deep inside we can still feel empty and inadequate. This is still a battle I constantly face but what I have learned that could help is to journal. Write down our sadness and why we feel the way we feel. From there, see how badly we are treating ourselves with our thoughts and our minds. All the self talk becomes evident when we journal. End every journal entry with loving words that we say to ourselves. For me, my favourite personal quote is “I am my own champion. I champion me.”. Committing time to helping others, as what Ben Carson shared is a great way to support this. Journal about how we helped someone. Once again, thank you very much for this article. Have a nice day!

Wow.. Steve, thanks for your helpful contribution. Making journal of our feelings and ending it with positive self talk. “I am my own champion” is so powerful. It is good to believe in ourselves and set reachable goals, that takes away so much pressure from us. Thanks for your comment. Cheers.

Hi Joseph. I really liked Ronald Reagan’s quote. It’s humorous but it’s steal dealing with a very sensitive and important topic in our lives. Depression can even kill us so we must constantly watch out.

One of the things that has really helped me is showing gratitude. Genuinely showing gratitude. And if we think about it it’s easy, we have so many reasons to be grateful!

Hi Ann, it is very true that gratitude help a lot when we are depressed. But the problem is that we usually fix our focus and mind on the things we do not have yet rather than what we can give. Thanks.

Nice article to read during this time when most countries are lockdown and we have to stay home. Life is so different now.
Many people will find life stressful and feel depressed.

Thanks for sharing the many ways we can overcome depression. For me gratitude is important. Every day we should have many things or happenings that we are grateful for.

I think women get more depressed than men because women do not forget their problems easily. They always think about their problems.
